Expanding Global Participation: New Wallet Activation Makes the Pi Ecosystem More Accessible

Inclusivity has always been a core vision of the Pi Network. With the new Mainnet Wallet Activation feature, Pi’s Mainnet ecosystem has become significantly more accessible to identity-verified users, including both fully and tentatively KYC’d Pioneers.

Mainnet Wallet Activation Is Now Available

This new feature allows identity-verified Pioneers—whether fully KYC’d or tentatively KYC’d—to activate their Mainnet wallets on the Pi blockchain, enabling broader participation in the Mainnet ecosystem and enhancing its inclusiveness.

While Mainnet migration is ongoing, and the team is working hard to speed it up, it involves complex procedures such as identity verification, data analysis, and user actions to ensure Pi is properly distributed to legitimate Pioneers. By decoupling wallet activation from migration, millions of verified users can now engage with the Pi ecosystem sooner, while maintaining the requirement of KYC/KYB verification.

Eligible Pioneers can activate their wallets via the Pi Wallet app in the Pi Browser.

Non-Pi Users Can Now Participate More Easily

Previously, those who were not Pi users had to start from scratch: mine Pi at least 30 times, pass KYC, and complete the full migration process—a lengthy journey. Now, non-users can obtain Mainnet wallets through third-party services available in certain regions, by completing a KYC process that meets Pi’s standards.

Important: Passing third-party KYC only enables wallet creation. It does not affect migration eligibility for current Pioneers.

Expanding KYC Authority to Verified Third Parties

Pi Network is now exploring KYC delegation to third-party providers that meet Pi’s standards. The first such service—Banxa—has passed KYB verification and is listed on the official KYB-approved page. However, due to business constraints, these services may have limited coverage and scalability. Banxa is currently in beta and may undergo adjustments as it scales.

Pioneers are encouraged to provide feedback via official Pi channels, and other qualified services are invited to apply for KYB approval.

A Faster Path to Ecosystem Entry

This update dramatically shortens the time and effort required for non-users to join the Pi ecosystem. Unlike those who only transact Pi via centralized exchanges without owning Mainnet Pi, non-users who join via this feature will receive actual wallets on the blockchain, allowing full participation in Pi apps, local commerce, and events such as the .pi Domain Auction.

A Vision of Greater Openness

The integration with Banxa marks the first time Pi has authorized a third-party to conduct KYC for wallet creation—a milestone toward a more open and inclusive network. Banxa is KYB-verified and authorized to support wallet onboarding in select regions.

Broad Impact of Wallet Activation

By empowering more users—both Pioneers and non-users—to own and use Pi on-chain, this feature enhances the utility of Pi and fosters real-world application. Developers also benefit from a larger user base, increasing transactions, testing, and feedback for faster ecosystem growth.

Reminder: Only use services listed on the official KYB page to avoid scams or fraud.
